Benefit Concert Review
A stunning set of 12 cocktails named after each of the students on the trip provided the welcome to the fantastic Benefit Gig on Thursday night. Excellent solo performances from George Gadd, Damien Ebanks, Sophie Hughes, Abi Ringrose, Angela Smith, combined with some extremely effective choreography by Emma Boulton and Alice Bentham, whose Jive and Line Dance troupes performed superbly. Composition by Mr Wolfe, and a beautiful rendition of Massenet's 'Meditation' from Mr Williams provided a sparkling preview to the show-stealing Mr Blakeley who, dressed as Susan Boyle, blessed the audience with a wonderful falsetto 'I Dreamed A Dream'. An excellent night performed to a packed house provided a wonderful send off to the team - now only 2 weeks to go...

The fundraising ball is rolling...!
As the trip approaches ever nearer, so the kind offers of financial assistance continue to roll in and make this amazing adventure a possibility for us all. Subsidies are now confirmed from 4 independent grant-making bodies, with the promise of the Benefit Gig next Thursday night looking good too. Emma Duckers has produced a wonderful array of non-alc cocktails for the bar, and the soloists and ensembles are fine tuning their acts. Exciting find of the week was new Year 13 student Angela in 1604, who truly has the voice of an angel - utterly breathtaking, and another great reason to come to the gig!
